340 steering wheel boss

Post by Bobalob » 14 Feb 2008 10:04 pm

Hi,

I have heard the 205 boss can be used but apparently they differ after 1988 and I am unsure which will fit, I have a 87' 340 1.7

Thanks

I think all 205 wheels are the same spline pattern as 300s, I've had a wheel from a base model 205 on and it fit, but as for indicator cancelling and horn pushes, no idea.

i had to use a 205 boss. then unclip the plastic bit from the 300 wheel with the horn sensors on. chop the indicator cancellor of the 205 boss then press the plastic bit from the 300 wheel onto the 205 boss

I have a momo one spare if anyone wants it..£30, may need to get the horn push ring from a normal 300 steering wheel though for indicator cancelling purposes

This boss has the correct spline and fits the smaller pcd (70mm?) omp, sparco style wheels. the actual boss is longer than the one in the picture, and you will loose the self canceling stalk, and you will have to find a new way of connecting your horn.

or you can go to Halfrauds and just ask for a volvo 340/360 steering boss from them which will fit a mountney style steering wheel (larger pcd 100mm?). this one will also accept all the indicator jiggery pokery and horn push devices!

Saw there were a lot of models of boss for the peugeot 205, and I went through them all to find the right one.

Good luck mate.
