Yeh you need to clamp the springs into the cups.

Who did the lowering for you? If you paid for someone to do it, take it back and tell them to do the job properly,

What they've done to your car is bloody dangerous!

just do as adam says and put a metal tie on the spring at each end to hold it to the spring cups. It is pretty obvious where ties go once you look at the strut.

You might sound like your mother but ffs you are right, springs falling out the cups isn't the most helpful thing in the world, most cars that are getting lowered are the ones that are going to be driven the hardest.

Dai, might it be worth knocking up a how to/instructions to go with some of the more important bits you sell? Or even some of us as we fit them, and if Dai's happy with the write up could chuck in a printout with the parts?

so my best bet is to put the clamps or something similar on them....???

is this what everyone does and does it get it through MOT's.?? this is my biggest concern.

Easiest way is in both top and bottom spring cups there is a hole big enough for an M8 bolt, just cut down some flat bar around 15mm x 5mm and cut into strips long enough to go over the hole and to the edge of the spring seat. Works fine on mine.

ok thanks guys i will have a look after i get back off holiday and have some time to redo the lowering and these were cut springs that dai sells, so they are shorter than the originals...

i presume the bolt then goes through the sheet metal u cut down and through the cup??

thanks

Most springs to get seriously lower have to be shorter otherwise the drop is just not possibly because there would be no space between coils to compress.

That's an excellent idea Chris. I went searching for instructions, with pics last night, but the only ones I could find were referring to Mustangs, slightly different but might be very helpful for anyone putting a guide together?

Here's the link to the sticky topic in the Mustang forum...watch out for the swearing!
