Pulling brakes
Pulling brakes
So then here is my quandry. Before i put my new pads and discs on the car would ALWAYS pull to the left uder hard braking.
Now i've changed the pads and discs it pulls to the opposite side, i.e the right.
Why would this be, any one got any ideas or how to sort it. Are the calipers easy to overhaul?
If not, anyone got some good calipers laying around spare?
Cheers.

Re: Pulling brakes
Does it pull when driving or only when braking? Cant remember what you said?
First thing i would do especially as you just changed front suspension is get the front of the car alligned, then go from there.

Re: Pulling brakes
Yeah it's only when braking, and it's a lot worse when braking hard, so i'm guessing it's the brakes.
Might be worth getting the allignment checked as you say, it's just weird that before it pulled left, now it goes right. I didn't notice it at 1st as the new brakes had to bed in and barely worked, but now they do it's really noticeable.

Re: Pulling brakes
Did you clean your calipers when you fitted them? Make sure the blocks can move freely.
Re: Pulling brakes
No i didn't clean them, just swung them out of the way when i removed the struts, then refitted them after.
By blocks, do you mean the break pads themselves? If so they didn't fit straight from the pack, i had to file some of the paint off to get them to fit the caliper. Maybe i need to take a bit more off?
