Check this thread:

V300 rear shocks have a stud, while most common shocks have an eye - Ali simply made a bracket to take the eye and locate it to a stud. Helps if you're handy with a welder.

Re: Which shocks?
im only 16 and still learning welding so would not go against my 340 with it.Would the saxos fit? with landrover 90 shocks and 1.5 inch lowering blocks of escort?
Re: Which shocks?
If you're only 16 then don't worry too much about lowering it - just get it solid and reliable and clean looking. Wait til you pass your test before you get modding.

Re: Which shocks?
The Saxo thing was a total guess, they were really cheap at an auto jumble, so I bought them.
It would take a bit of effort to get them to fit properly. I think Saxo topmounts would be required, which would then mean re drilling the Volvo's strut tops. I found, thanks to some help from here that over all there were just far to many differences between the Saxo and Volvo shocks.
Instead Ive ended up with some KYB shocks, but I was also recommended the QH Lip GASTEC shocks.
Landrover 90 front shocks fit on the back, Ive got some and you cant really push the back of the car down anymore. Ive been warned that these are really for drift cars, I'll find out when I get the car back on the road (waiting for stuff from Dai to finish the front).
Does your 340 have an MOT?

Well if you have, some cash and the car dosen't need any work done to make it "safe" Id say mod it.
Just be careful you don't "ruin" it just because of the rarity of these is a bit of an issue. Only thing I'd be concerned about is the insurance, with regard to lowering and any other mods you choose to do.
