Options for suspension (unlowered)
Lowered suspension is great, but currently it's just not practical for me. I've been thinking of some ideas of how to keep a decent ride height (perhaps a very slight lowering) and stiffen everything up at the same time. Adam suggested some mods to my current setup, I've also thought that a cheaper option than buying sparcos would be to get some 360GLT shocks. I'm fishing for ideas here, anyone know of something that would fit? Budget is not currently an issue.

Sparcos? Still talking suspension? Easiest thing would be fresh dampers all round possably double leaf the rear and run firmer springs up front.

Hi mate,
You could run what I'm running, just without the lowering blocks at the back.
Double leaf springs, KYB 'Gas-A-Just' shock on rear.
Stiffer springs on front, and more viscous oil in the dampers. My front's not gone down at all with the springs I'm using either. They're 200lb/in springs from a Ford Capri.
Total cost:
Shocks £50 SH (but in v good nick), springs about £25, additional leafs....taken from a donor.
I like the improvement.
You might also need slightly longer leaf spring bolts as the extra leaf will add about 1.5cm extra for them to clear!

Cool, I'll do something like that then maybe. Couldn't do me a favour and take a pic of your leaf setup? I just wanna see what you mean about the bolts.

To be honest with decent gas adjustable shocks I wouldn't feel the need to fit double leaf springs... the rear of my old car felt stiff enough with Spax adjustables set mid way.
As far as I'm aware you can't get the KYB Gas A Just shocks anymore, the only ones I saw were their Excel G's which are supposed to be 10% stiffer than stock.

Are ALL the T shaped grey shapes Bolts?
Only one is labled.

Yeah they are, I got it. Ahh right, I was thinking lining them up side-by-side but this way would obviously work better. Sweet, cheers. Most of my problems are with the back wheels lifting on turning so although the front contributes this would be a cheap short term solution until I get some nice stiff dampers

erm hi i have an extra set on leaf springs and am intrested in the double leaf spring setup but how can you bolt both of them to the body or dont you?

No you'll cut the ends off one and the pressure will keep it wedged under the other one
