Hello, I have had both continuously on and, less-often, flashing but never worried too much, just filled-up. Hope that helps a bit. You can probably short-out the connections or open the circuit to the petrol sender to see if the light stays on continuously when it should. It might be worth checking the connections to voltage regulator which is a biggish chip with a heat sink screwed onto the back of the instrument panel. I had the connector pins break on it once which gave very slow and confusing oscillations of the fuel gauge and engine temp gauge. Ta jc
