you usually have to go to a volvo dealer or stereo specialist to get them recoded , I have heard of an old car stereo thieves trick of putting the stereo in a freezer , its meant to wipe the original code and then you can put any code in , however I should point out I have never tried this muself

I had one of those recently before I replaced it for a MP3/CD/CDRW player...

My code was: 7439 - maybe worth a try.

If you want the manual, I can maybe get some photos of it for you sorted out...

It had a section on how to disable the code (though you need the code to do this!)

But... the code disabling thing didnt work!

(IE have to enter code every time you turn the radi on) which is a little annoying... and this was meant to disable this feautre.

Good Luck, maybe that code will work!

I've got a few bits of software that might be able to work it out from the serial number post it and I'll give them a go

If you'd like any details from the radio instruction booklet thing, just let me know - no probs. Also if you want to disable the code coming on every time you turn on your radio I can let ya know how - if it will work on your radio!

Now I have posted 100 times! lol

Enjoy the music!!!

two questions. any idea of the colour codes(?) for the LED that light up the radio front as i've los the pre set side ones and the replacments came from my old 'mono' c3001 radio. it looks a bit strange with two shades of green one brighter than t'other.

also is there a more specialised procedure for extracting tapes? every so often it won't give a tape back at all. and needs a day or so to calm down before the eject will work.....

I really doubt about freezer trick as we do have colder outside at cold winter day than freezer will create and it would be quite troublesome if codes would get reset by cold temperature ;)

i've tried it on a pair of rover 216 radios (old style) and it didn't work also on a fiesta radio (stupid wiring anyway). easier to phone the manufacturer.

OK first of all the moving doodahs mean that someone has entered the code incorrectly and the radio has locked out. You need to switch the radio on and wait for the doodahs to stop moving. depending on how many times its been entered the radio locks out for 1 minute, 2 minutes, 4 minutes etc etc it keeps doubling so you might be a while.

Once you just get a -C- symbol you then press 1 and you should get a - on the left of the display. Use the arrows to select your first digit. Once you've got it, press 1 again to move to the next digit. Repeat until the code's entered.

Hope that helps.
