fan problem
fan problem
ok, my central fan outlets are a bit broken. basically, with the surround clipped on (that also includes the hazard light switch) the air speed slider things (that open the vents up) are pressed against by the surround, which means they cant turn. any ideas??

Ahh you got the green GLE
Wondered when you were going to spill the beans...
Seems like the surround isn't giving enough clearance for the sliders for the vents.. has a clip broke off on the surround which is making it push on the sliders? Scrappy time methinx...

Hi Hugh, spotted your purchase! Close by for you and I hope it makes a fine motor for you too. With regards to the fan switch problem, the central console never seemed to be an excellent fit on the 300's, maybe there's something poked in there stopping it rotating, which is quite likely, they're easy enough to remove as I'm sure you know. Mine doesn't like the angle of the vent being adjusted vertically, it appears to be stuck, but it does move! Pete
cheers guys
went to pick her up yesterday
wasn't that close thou - 105 miles away! had a backup of a black glt in bournemouth as well incase she was real crap
it looks like its being pushed back too far, but i cant see it being 1 clip as its happening on both sides!? i'll have to have a longer gander today, as its daylight

Ah yeah the GLT on Adtrader? The green one looked nice from what I saw on Ebay - didn't look like much rust, and it's pretty unusual to find one in that colour that I happen to think suits it well! Does this mean you have another working sunroof as well?!
Strange with the slider controls hmm.. I guess if its not fixable, its an easy replacement.

Wow - I was eyeing up that 360 for ages - so tempted to bid... If only because of that fab colour - definitely suits a 360. But *gasp* - Hugh - you have another car with PAS!! How much cheaper are 360's gonna get, incidentally?!

It was damaged, remember! That'll put 95% of bidders off....only the mad few remain
Good examples are going for £2-300 even on eBay. If I sorted the rear door rust out, I'd not take less than £300 for my car in a private sale (minus all the extra toys too!). If the bodykit and carbs go on before I renew my insurance I may well (price dependant) be sorting out an agreed value policy to the order of £1k!
For what it's worth, I think the market is already on the way up very slowly as they get rarer - I think 360s were cheaper on average around a year ago.
cheers
James

It's a bit weird, I think you're right about a year ago James - regularly saw 360s - even good ones going for less then 100 quid on ebay (all of which were miles away from me I must add!). £100 seems about the minimum for an MOT'd and average condition car now.
I didn't mind paying a fair bit in comparison for my car - seeing as it had recently had a cambelt change, service and other bits of work done to it. If I didn't know when a last cambelt change was done - I'dve had to get it renewed straight away (simply as a precaution!). Any 360 you get is going to be cheap, regardless of what the market value is (virtually nothing!).
Gets to the point where you would rather hang onto the car rather than let it go for silly money (Special Edition 360!!!).
