Hmmm, wonder if Mk3 wings are roughly the same price? Thats a bonza bonus price, and I need some parts spraying anywayebdl wrote:Thanks for the pics Shimon.I got the wing from the Volvo dealer - they still stock them at £63.45 (inc. VAT), which isn't a lot more expensive than I was being quoted by scrap yards for a second-hand one.

And a wobble extension isn't a UJ, although it works like one. It's got a rounded drive, and doesn't take up as much room to do the same job. I wouldn't trust how much torque one would take, but for normal bolts in an arkward place!

Indeed, it is possible to remove the wing with the door on, but I think I unbolted the door check stay, as then, if you open it carefully right round, you gain an extra bit of space, and can then use a longer extension bar from memory.
And as other people have said, and I will say it again, use some waxoyl, dinitrol, whatever you want to use, as otherwise the hard work, effort and expense is wasted, as I've seen replacement panels rust and become useless in no time at all, prevention is better than cure!

Well got a quote today for £150 to get the panels painted up, so they're going in next week. Seems like a decent place and they've got some good cars outside, which I'm taking as a good sign (Porsche 911 carrera). He mentioned that it might need blending into the door since it's difficult to match metallics exactly, but I'm hoping that having spent most of its life inside the paint shouldn't have faded much... hopefully a better chance of the new paint matching. I'll post some pictures when I've made some progress.
Thanks for all the advice,
