You'd better hurry up, I'd not bank on it working well for long like that (and at that price), there's a reason why they have lids, and it's only partly to keep the crap out, it also forms part of the heat sync and sheilding.

To be honest, I'd ignore power rating and look at quality. If something looks too good (i.e. cheap) to be true, it almost certainly is.

There should be a pair of mounting holes for 4x6" (easily blanked off to 4") speakers in the front footwell, and this location makes a lot more sense with the early 'skinny' dash than the later one. They'll not shake the car to bits with bass, but you should get some pretty sweet sounding 4" co-axials for £50-100....check eBay...but again, focus on quality. There's a lot of cheap and nasty stuff on there.

I have some 4" JBLs, if you want something properly bargain basement.

cheers

I've got 6" JBL's comps... price vs quality they rock. Just remember they don't fit with manual window winders

well i have some nice round bad boys for the footwells which will be going in very soon. its a good place for them and i do not want to damage any of the cars plastics!
so they are perfect.

but as for the back i was thinking of something for the boot as i dont have a parcel shelf and would only cut into them if i had a spare.

if anyone wants to sell me some cheap tat then pm me. if its good stuff still pm me :D but be warned my cash for cars is low right now :( i have a bmw to get back on the road.

I left the shelf on the back of the car, and drove off...it flew off, and the speakers got it! Luckily the shelf was folded over, so they didn't get as much damage as you might expect. I'll get pics, if you want.

I dunno...£10 for the lot?

cheers
