Do I need a special tool to remove the door pins and if so where can I get one?

you wont need a special tool, only a punch or drift pin, you'll have to push from top to bottom

The top pins can be removed with a punch or old screwdriver, you need to lift off (carefully) the rain gutter strip top gain access. Once half way through use a new pin to finish and follow the old one out.

The bottom pins really need a door pin removal tool to remove upwards. I got one from ECP and it just about lasted for the 2 bottom pins. They are quite hard to get out.

Thanks, who are ECP and do they have a website? Also what size drift pin would I need? Surely someone on here must know!

Also this tool is advertised on ebay, I wonder if it will work on a Volvo 340?

looks pretty much like the one I got, didn't last very long. Those pins need serious removal power.

The bar or the pins? Pins are usually available separately as spares.

Does anyone know what size punch I would need, 8mm possibly? It doesnt say in my Haynes manual.

You can just hit the edge of the pin, you don't need the full size, although with a crappy punch the corners will wear off.

I measured across the diameter of my replacement pins and they're 1/4". Im hoping Kevin Coopers will do a drift or punch thats the same size...

Any punch bigger than a few mm will do. Whatever size you use you need a good hammer blow, that is the most important thing.
