Perhaps borrow another battery? There's not much on a 300 which can drain it. How old is the battery?

Could a bad earth cause this? I know I have a battery drain somewhere but it's very likely that it's just the appalling state of my positive lead causing high resistance. It's not bad enough for me to fix it though

A bad earth could cause the drain. May be a loose or corroded earth or one connected in the wrong place i.e. connected to alloy.
