Evening all,
Basically when i'm driving along my speedo is varying speeds, like the needle is waving at me.
It stops when i get to about 50/ 60mph and is fine from then onwards.
At lower speeds its can go mad!
How do i fix this!? Its quite an issue when i have old bill following me!
Any info would be nice!
Cheers, Chris

Re: My 360's speedo is waving at me!!
The speedo on these is mechanicaly driven by a turning cable atatched to the NSF wheel with a tiny C style circlip. Check that and obviously check the speedo end aswell. The easiest way to check the dials is by removing the metal plate holding the top edge of the dials into the housing, have a look and you'll see it. It's held in with Philips head screw.
Once that is out of the way you can tilt the top edge of the dial cluster forward and carefully check the speedo cable connection at that end. It's got a plastic twist fit connector, remove thyat and have a look at what you see.
It's worth noting that you can remove the whole plastic cowling from around the dash, light switches rear demister etc but i found the only way to get it out of the way was by removing the steering wheels aswellEither way it's not a heard job, should take no more than half hour to take apart and put back in again.

And don't forget to use some grease to lubricate the metal wire inside.
Understeer: The front of the car hits the wall,
Oversteer: The rear of the car hits the wall,
Horsepower: How fast the car hits the wall,
Torque: How far the car pushes the wall.

Hello, I had to degrease the concentric wheels inside the speedo to rid mine of the wobbles, so grease judiciously.

Strangely enough mine did this too, but fixed itself after I disconnected it at the dash end when working on something else, forgot to reconnect it, and drove about speedoless for a few weeks.. I reconnected it for MOT and whadday ya know, it worked perfectly.
Not particularly good advice I know.

Ah I remember the days of a working speedo...
I really should refit my dash (so the clocks can sit right and connect to the cable).
