Electric mirror wiring??? POSS. DIAGRAM INSIDE

Hi, just got some electric mirrors from MCHUDD (thanks mate!!) and am now pondering over how they connect up.

I have been looking at this guide:

But cant really work out the wiring. Car is 1988 GLT and IIRC the mirrors are 1989 so thats the correct guide

From the mirrors there are 5 wires, 4 in a plug, one seperate brown wire
The wires in the plug are as follows:

Grey with White stripe
Grey with Black stripe
Grey (with grey stripe so all grey)
Yelow with White stripe
+ Brown wire seperate

Each mirror has the same wires exactly

The steps 15 to 19 dont really helpwith what wires go where.

The best idea i have come up with is that both mirrors are common earth, and the 4 pins in the plug go straignt to 4 of the pins on the switch. The 5th pin on the plug will be for live?

If anyone can help me out it would be great even if its just what colour wires go to the switch.

I might have it sussed,had to use a 740/760 haynes manual as my 300 manual only goes up to '86 and doesn't have wiring diagrams for electric mirrors.

Fingers crossed it will work, started making the looms tonight. if anyone has a proper wiring dagram it would be very helpful.

Not sure which way round pin 1 and 3 on the switch go but trial and error should fix that

will do, got an alarm battery on charge now to test my loom, then as soon as i know it works it will be in the car and the mirrors swapped

Still having problems

As my haynes manual doesn't cover electric mirrors i was wondering if anyone has a more up to date manual that covers wiring diagrams for cars with electric mirrors and could scan or photo it for me?

aye think it can all be worked out from the diagrams above and the picture showing the wire colours in the blue book link at the top of the thread. think i've got it sussed, just need to figure out if the black wire at the back of the heated rear screen plug is positive or negative, then get the switches working, think the contacts may be a bit corroded but sure i can get them working. then do the looms and install!

I think i may have a spare loom knocking around for mirrors. I have them in both my 340 and my 360.
