If you don't mind an analogue tuner, the dogs for a later dash would be a CR-103 Top Executive - has a mic input and the tape deck records...
Re: CR-3001 radio- how to remove and service??
It's not that I dont mind, I want an analogue tuner.
Instead of pressing a button maybe 30-50 times... I'd rather turn a knob.
(heres some I did earlier)
I'll have a scan about for that model, sounds cool - My mate writes songs all the time and likes to sing - I might still buy it though and not tell him what it does.
sorry (absurdity has grasped me)

Eh? That's what the "search" button is for?CBA wrote:Instead of pressing a button maybe 30-50 times...
Besides the MTS system is like a poor-man's RDS re-tuner. I haven't fully deciphered the foreign manuals, but 6 FM presets can have 10 frequencies per preset and it tunes into the strongest of the 10 (or something like that).
The other cool feature of the MTS units is the optional foot switch:
One tap to set the radio off on a seek (when seeking if it finds a station, it pauses on that station for a few seconds) then a second tap to stop seek.
But I can see the attraction of a knob tuner.
(If anyone has one of those footswitches going spare, please PM)
Re: CR-3001 radio- how to remove and service??
When tuning FM I find most receivers will skip perfectly strong signals when seeking, or at least bearable signals.
EG, with seek my radio picks up classic FM and Smooth FM, radio 1 and 2, tower FM.
With manual button pressing I get... Bolton FM, WIRE, Merseyside, XFM, Rock FM - and another 6 I'm not sure of.
