Sometimes though:

a) the operating rod attached to the button can become unclipped and drop out, in which case you need to climb into the back of the car and take the inside cover off and pull up the release rod manually, or
b) the keys are lost and it is locked, in which case you need to climb into the back of the car and take the inside cover off and wrestle the release rod out of the plastic clip and pull it up.

Or a car thief breaks both the lock and button and you own a saloon. In which case, hammer the shit out of it much to the appalling looks of your neighbours until your key fits again :wink:

Don't forget the 300 central locking system doesn't lock the boot. Remember this is a security feature according ot the sales literature, likewise the special feature that allows you to unlock the passenger's door only :)
