My turn signal indicators don't work properly

Post by williswoody » 07 Feb 2012 06:16 am

Ok so today I drove out into the rain and it got really heavy. I turned and came back home, driving through some pretty big (but not very deep) puddles of water. When the rain cleared a bit, I drove back out but had to pull off to the side of the road. And I found that my turn signals weren't working. Both sides, and on hazard lights did NOTHING.

So I thought I'd jut ignore it, an turned the wheel to go back out onto the road, and they started working. Ever since then, they've been blinking really quick, working properly or not working at all. Very strange.

Could they be water damaged from the rain? Is this possible? I can't think of any other reason. How could I get this fixed?

Thanks heaps :)

Hi mate.
Flasher relay sounds good to me also.
Its located behind the dash clocks.
Cheers Mark.

The other thing could be hazard switch if it's not been used much, I've seen a couple where if you put your palm over the switch and wiggle it it cleans the contacts up.

Dose with contact cleaner if so.

Quick question: why on earth with the engine running if i push the turn lever to the right the needle of the rpm clock starts to go up/down? Same if i use the hazard switch, and if the -i don`t know what the term is- day light (no high or low beam) is turned on, when i push the lever tot the right, also the bulbs from the dash are going off/on and so. On the outside of the car, everything is fine, only the dash is like a X-mas tree.
Also, since all of this started i cannot use my stereo, it stays on protected mode.
I haven`t touched nothing before all of this, i didn`t played with the wires/ fuses.
Thanks.
