Leak
Leak
I gave the inside a clean today and noticed that the nearside foot wells were alittle damp so there must be a leak. I wondered if theres a common place for leaks I can check first?
Also the boot door seal is a bit shit and the boot is a damp sometimes. Are seals available or do I have to get universal ones?
Thanks
Chris

Re: Leak
Hmm, check window seals in the corners. Could be something simple like the holes in the firewall behind the heater box.

Re: Leak
Talc.
Dust the tailgate/boot seal with talcum powder. Close, hose then open. Easier to see where it is leaking. Similar can be done on other suspected entry points.

Re: Leak
My 340 leaks slightly at the front drivers side windscreen wiper spindle, then drips onto the wiring before dripping into the snow tray. Need to fix it when weather picks up. Car cover keeping it dry at the moment when standing. Boot seals are a problem somtimes, good idea with the talc!

Re: Leak
Check both bottom corners of the windscreen, pray it isn't that. If it is, screen has to come out and you have some of the worst 300 shaped welding to do

Re: Leak
Rust in the window seal is the worst culprit, try pulling the edges up a little. There is a lot of insulation and rubber matting on the front bulk heads it can trickle down behind them and not wet the carpet.
Pull off the door rubbers, kick panels and under dash panels then pull up the carpet. Might be some horrors.
Window seals can be fixed with silicon injected into in the gap, but don't use the stuff full of acetic acid.
If you have a sun roof check the drains are working.
