I'm having a little trouble wiring up the warning light on the switch panel I made. I've tried tapping into the black wire behind the dash cluster and earthed it, but it doesn't seem to work. I've also tried going directly from the sender in the block.
Any ideas where I could get the signal from?
I'e just thought, the block currently isn't earthed, as I've taken the head off. This will probably be why it isn't working, I'll investigate when I have the chance.

Re: Wiring in a oil pressure warning light.
Hmm yeah it should work off the sender (as I understand it) because it sends an alernating signal which can be picked up by a pressure dial. Unless the sender is mechanical and only sends a on/off signal when the pressure allows a piece to drop? Not sure.
Re: Wiring in a oil pressure warning light.
Oil pressure switch (and sender from memory, or maybe it's just a sender on the F7R) go to the ECU. ECU then does magic stuff with it, such as if the RPM is above 1500 AND the moon is in it's first phase, it'll retard the ignition and put the light on for 10 secs. Light goes to a pin on the ECU.
This system has 3 lives, on the third time the light comes on and stays on.
Having written that, I've no idea if that's how mine is wired, just something I found in the Renault dealer manuals the other day
