my warning light turns on and of while driving uphill with the throttle quite far in
and now it has started showing/blinking while driving normally on straights, starts when the revs get over 2000 rpm
anyone know what it could be?
i dont notice anything when the light shows, sometimes a little less power maybe, but that could be something in my head... paranoia may be getting me

((!)) is the brake fluid as Tom says. If its low, the light will flicker or come on under acceleration or uphill.

It's the "surprise" light implemented by volvo in 1972. Basically if the Volvo doesn't expect something to happen, it will be surprised (such as when you start going fast) and let you know via the dash light. Hope that helps.

i remember thinking it was some sort of 'shift-light' as it only came on when accelerating hard. Turned out it were the rear cylinders.
