As its oil i dont think it washes off, as for durability i have no idea, that louvres sat in my bedroom for 6 months since i did that, and its still that black :)

Its just a 1986 340 GL I am not to sure i always thought it was a mk2 as it had slightly larger bumpers and the chrome line around the front bumper?

Mk2s have smaller bumpers, and an extra piece of trim above the front bumper below the lights :)

Nope, MK3. Later rear lights, and different bumpers. Have a look at mine if you want.

I finally picked up some linseed oil from amazon for only £5 delivered! Best stuff i have ever used! M<y bumpers and my grill were dull grey with little spots over them and now they are fresh black as if they are brand new! WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE!!
