Best appreciated when open.
I probably should have specified ladies legs in there too. [+=] "embarrarrased emoticon"[].com

If you've got leaks you may need more than a new seal. An old seal should be fine if its not noticeably weathered.

Only the most basic cars got a different seal to the rest of the range - these didn't get the black or chrome trim which fits into the slit you see here:

http://www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/v ... 9&start=28

You want to look out for part number 3285940 (with trim) or 3296997 (basic / L models) which will fit too if you don't mind not being able to fit the trim back. Skandix has some, but you don't want to look at the price:

Cheers

Tom

PS Be careful when removing the trim :-)

Thanks tom! is it possible to save the trim/locking strip? The seal itself of course isnt a problem if i get a new one.

But bloody hell the price is mental!!

Be careful removing the trims from the rubber. I'd almost put a bet on at least one of the pieces snapping on removal. They get incredibly brittle over the years, but it is possible to remove them successfully - just go slowly and gradually. I'd try and get hold of a spare set before doing this.

Yup, i snapped my bits of trim, and now have a leaky screen  I need to seal it and source a new filling strip to get it sealed. Someone needs to find a viable replacement for the crappy plastic trim

I'd suggest someone with a leaky screen is primed with a reason to get involved :p

This is the 300 scene dude, everyone gets involved in solving the problems they can when they need the bits, there isn't enough of us to sit round waiting for someone else to fix it!

Did you take the measurements from the filler strip and email the bloke I gave you the link of?

I managed! The broken bit in the pics was there before I got going on it. Some patience - and it should be out without any trouble. Even if it does snap - it's still re-useable and you won't notice the break much, not with the black coloured trim anyway.

Cheers
