Bucket seat subframes!

Post by Benfraser » 08 Oct 2012 06:51 pm

I'm getting the cobra monaco pros and was looking for some universal subframes as i do not want to weld them in. The best and cost friendliest ones i have found were these:

Any thoughts?

My initial thoughts are that you may end up sitting very high.

Not the ideal driving position for drifting/sprints/fast road.

The only way is to remove the factory seat mounts imo.

I suppose you could get a bottom mount bucket and affix it with two strips of steel to the factory mounts. That's as low as you will get it I reckon, but obviously it won't slide or allow people in the back, if you have a 3 door.

Hopefully someone else will have an idea!

I would just adapt the Volvo subframes if you're base mounting them mate. Fuck buying those 'proper' ones. I had some Cobra ones years ago for the Monacos in my Nova, and they were piss thin dog muck imo!

If you're side mounting, I have some shexy uber adjustable alloy mounts for sale on this very forum that may interest you.

Either way, on the standard Volvo welded in seat brackets, you're gonna be higher than a hippy on the last day of Glastonbury I'm afraid.

I dunno what the best ways gonna be :?

I might just get them welded in. Or maybe try to adapt the original volvo frames? I'm going to get the seats and have a look

Thanks, Ben.... Wheres the link to the mounts??
