Rear window removal and refit
Will the rear window just pop out? Can it be refitted with a sealant an not the trim? The reason for this is that the trim on my 87 GLT is knackered and is either beyond repair or I cannot find a supplier/ replacement part. Anyone tried this with a late model.

87 Hatchback window would be bonded, it would need cut off with a screen bonding remover/cutter and new bonding used. Not sure how the trim goes on, never actually worked on a bonded one.

Re: Rear window removal and refit
I think without the trim you would end up with a horrible gap. Perhaps some flex trim could be used???

I've seen my 940 front windscreen done, guy came in a van did in about 30 mins, used my insurance. They prefer a dry day, I was able to use cover at the factory I worked at.
I don't think he was particularily fastidious about removing the old glue, he had a nice battery powered gun for putting on the new glue on the glass using a V section, then rubber suction cups with handles, lined it up and stuck it in. Needed to be left for about an hour before moving.

One way to cut bonding is with nylon thread, use it to 'saw' through the 'rubber'. I use this method for removing badges. Cotton thread will work but has to be 3x thick and twisted and wet to be efficient (snap/cut ratio)..
