INDICATOR-STEM MOUNTING HOLE CRACKED?

Post by Justin » 15 Apr 2013 12:13 pm

The lower plastic hole that locates/holds my indicator-stem has cracked. Im guessing there's not a hope in hell that superglue will work to replace the part thats cracked off? Also the top screw seems loose; It seems in order to do it up I need to remove the steering wheel plus the speedo fascia?...

Its a common fault your best bet is to use a small strip of metal across the bottom from the wiper stalk to replicate what the plastic used to do.

No keep the plastic in place. The metal strip is just to brace the plastic from one side to the other

Not the best picture but something like this is what you need to do

Ive used a metal repair bracket which I had to cut to the correct length and drill an extra hole. The side that has the earth wire just about takes the original bolt!

I've put blue locking-compound on all four bolts to hopefully stop them working loose again...
