MKII vs. MKIII Bumper Differences

Hello guys,

I've had a look, but can't find any definitive answers about this topic. I had a bit of a prang on a rally at the weekend, and I'm after a new front bumper.

I've found (most of) a MKII bumper for sale, but will it fit? Liam has the trumpets, bottom strip from under the lights and a bottom valance. Will they fit a MKIII? Are the clips the same on the wings?

Thanks

Matt

MK2 and 3 can be swapped over but they are very different. The Mk3 has the side repeater in the bumper as where the mk2 is in the wing. The mk2 also has a separate panel that goes below the lamps where the mk3 is part of the bumper.

Yes, they are very different. In any case, I would say that usually an '86-on bumper must be easier to source than an 82-85 bumper!

I think we decided the grills are different too.

Thanks for the information guys.

I've managed to source a MKIII bumper, as it just seems easier.

The reason I asked about a MKII bumper is that Liam had all the additional bits I needed too (trumpets for example).

All sorted now. Useful to know anyway! Thanks :D
