No headlights or brake lights - 1989 volvo 360

Last night I lost the use of my headlights and brake lights.

The sideligths work but moving the head light switch to position two does not illuminate the headlights.

Are these fed from the same live feed? If so could anyone familiar with the 360 wiring looms point me in the right direction?

Thanks
Andy

I'd suspect the 3 connectors that back onto the fuse box (interior side, they are the same connectors as under bonnet side)

I think judging by how they operate the park lights being on a constant feed and driving being only when key is on, they are different.

go through and check all your fuses.
Then with the key on get someone to turn your main beams on and off while you have your finger on the relay's too. pretty sure the headlight one's are with the fuses. you should feel/hear them tick with every on/off sequence if all the fuses are ok.

I forgot to mention that full beam works but does not stay on constant.

As in I can pull the stalk towards me and they are on for a a long as it is held in that position bit will not remain lot when the stalk is released.

Main beam will only latch over and hold from dipped when the headlamps are switched on. So if the dipped beam isn't working, they'll work on a flash only basis.

Hi mate.
Sounds a bit like a bad earth. The loom plugs into the bulk head { interior }
Cheers Mark.
