Hey guys. In the middle of rust repairs0new engine prep etc and my 360 has no dash etc. Wanted to start it and keep motor good and running so plugged in:

All 4 fusebox plugs
computer
fuel pump lead (joins engine loom above heater)
Ignition.

now my fuel pump is on constantly
battery no charge.

not sure if the fuel pump is an issue but my main one is the no charging.
is there a loop circuit haven't connected for the alt?
what else could it be?

I don't has multi-meter so can't measure voltage or current flow.

any ideas?

You need the dash light and bypass resistor to provide a little starting field current in the alternator. Try the manual circuit diagram and replicate the bypass resistor at the alternator. or you might be able to start it with a touch from the right wire.

Will plugging the instrument cluster back in help?

My 360 will run and charge with no cluster or jack. However the brushes on my altenator crapped out recently, remember that the original brushes will be getting on a bit 25 years or so.

Plugged my cluster back in and she's fine now.
