Tachometer Accessory by macplaxton, on Flickr
So, I've got this tachometer and it comes with a mini-loom with 3 wires and a couple of Scotchloks (bag at right of photo).
The +ve and -ve are easy enough to deal with, it's the pulse wire to the coil that is the problem. The wire is too bloody short! (LHD?)
As far as I can tell the coil has lived in a number of places before MY84, when the Renix came in.
MY77 - side of block? (Sion?)
MY78 - left top corner of bulkhead
MY79 - left top corner of bulkhead
MY80 - left top corner of bulkhead
MY81 - left top corner of bulkhead
MY82 - front panel to left of radiator (you can see where the red wire goes to the right of the picture)

MY83 - ??
Is this the same for LHD? (Send your answers/pictures this way and I'll add them to the post.)
Either way, it's a bit of a pain to reach from a RHD. The loom seems to suit a LHD car with the bulkhead coil in front of the instrument panel. For me though, they couldn't have put it further away!
I've also had to use the front from a earlier panel as MY82 panels have two holes in the lens as they come with a front adjust clock.
