Which wire

Post by benji1985 » 23 Jan 2016 01:07 am

Hello everyone, I prep for the car i have brought and alarm and immobiliser. i want to immobilise the ignition coil, so from the wiring diagram from the green books, i have found that it is (i think) either the green or black wire depending if i have electronic ignition or not, The year of the car is 1988 but i cant for the life of me remember if she has electronic ignition (the book say that she should).
I am trying to avoid any wires being cut near the key barrel, ie making it hard for them lol!
Could i have a bit of guidance on which wire i should cut so the alarm can immobilise should it need to?

Thank you

Ben

1988 would have electronic ignition, You should have the integrated coil+computer module in the engine bay (renix unit).
1980 345 DL_______1987 360 GLE (project car restored to GLT spec and B230FT'd)
1984 360 GLT______1987 360 GLT
1983 360 GLS______1989 360 GLE
1985 340 GL_______1986 340 1.4
1985 360 GLS______1995 940 SE 2.3 Turbo Estate (daily)
1987 340 GL 1.7

Ok cool, so i'll look for the black wire to cut so then there should be no spark to the plugs.

Thank you
