Side badges and side trims

Post by VagrootsDan » 16 Feb 2016 09:28 am

Finally sorting out the damage on the passenger side, ready for the summer.
How easy is it to remove the side badges and trims?
and if they get broken due to brittle, 30yr old plastic, how easy are they to buy?
thanks

I would run a heat source over them and warm them up, this will melt the glue and allow the plastic to be a be more flexible, run a paint scraper or a craft knife under the badge and very gentle lift.

Overall its hard to remove them without damage to either the trim or the door. The thicker 360 stuff is glued and double sided sticky foam, very hard to cleanly remove. Small badges not so hard but bend easily.

Cutting works better than pulling.
