Wipers in wrong position!

Post by Twitch6284 » 16 Mar 2016 04:40 pm

Hey guys,

I nicked the complete engine loom when swapping my engines, so I swapped the wiper motors so the wiring all matched up.

But now the wipers are stuck in the up position.. How do I fix this please?

Do you mean they are 'parked' in the up position? The linkage has to be in the correct positon.

Assuming the linkage and wipers arm are correctly orientated, undo the motor spindle, park the wipers then reconnect the motor spindle in the new place. without moving the wipers.

I'm sorry, I dont really understand the terminology.

They stop in the up position, when I turn them on, they sweep down the windscreen, (same as the normally would if they were on), but then return to stop vertically when switched off.

How would I 'park' the wipers in the normal position, without moving them??

Please excuse the ignorance, I have never come across this problem before..

I replied in FB yesterday, to make them go in the opposite direction the arm at the motor needs to be moved 180 degrees with reference to the motor, but this would put them into the body so you need also + or - 90 degrees. I would provide a photo but I don't have mine at the moment.
