Body Panels

Post by brandonlewis022 » 22 Apr 2016 08:27 pm

Hi everyone,

I posted a while back about any body panels and if anybody knew of any breaking. Instead of that I was wondering if people knew how to go about getting new ones made up, my worry is buying wings off an old car maybe prone to the rust the same as mine are, hence wanting to replace. Wondering if there's any panel makers or specific people to go to? Any help appreciated.

Many thanks, Brandon.

Original panels that havn't rusted are likely to last better that aftermarket ones, but ultimately rust needs skill and knowledge to avoid which ever you go for.

I would not worry about using 2nd hand panels if they are in good shape. My favourite materials are zinga and rustbuster epoxy 121. Put this on anything and it will protect it well. The main issue is making them stick, surface needs to be degreased and rough.

There is not much of a market for tooled parts, klokkerholm did them but seem to have given up now.
