Cassette Holder Unit Removal/How?

Post by de Dion » 28 May 2016 11:16 pm

Hi, 1986 340 GL.
I fitted a cassette holder unit many years ago and as I remember, it was just a case of pushing it in to locate it. I now need to remove it to replace it with the twin instrument panel, but it refuses to budge by pulling & levering. Please can someone tell me if I am missing something?
Thank you in anticipation of your kind help.
John.

Thank you "classicswede" very helpful.
I have now been able to remove the unit without damage. As shown in the picture there are two small but very sharp tangs; one on each side half way down, It needs a slim screwdriver to reach in and release the "tangs" grip by pressing inwards on the very outer limb of the "V" shaped tang. the ("V" faces upwards towards you as you press.)
