Door seal question

Hello, I got a new door seal from a 340 supplier who is usually great (not naming names as this is only a hobby ;-) but from my experience of changing these on a Morris Minor decades ago I was half-expecting it to ruin the car and, well, it almost has. The door requires a gargantuan effort to close it and then stands about a cm proud of the rest of the bodywork, the window-frame looks like its about to break and opening the door makes such a noise from the catch that I thought it was about to fracture into little pieces. So I have left the door ajar rather than stress it all too much while I try to sort out a better solution. I ebayed a bit and blagged this picture:

From measuring up the new seal it is definitely a lower-right one. Will changing it for a lower-left one which is a bit smaller help? I can't believe that 2 mm is going a to make a big enough difference. I am tempted to go for the 'Small' one (top-right). Anyone got any advice on this.

Well, I bought 8 metres of the 'small' one for doing both sides and it seems to do the job, i.e. the doors close easily and there is only a paper-thin gap for about a foot along the top of the driver's door. Awesome I say, but its hard work on the hands to fit it and it is visibly smaller than the original seal, although not too bad. I am hoping that I can very slightly bend the window frame inwards to improve the seal on the iffy side.... seem to remember reading something about that on here??

Read what I understand a lot. It's a readable content that gets a lot of good knowledge.

Hey I did the same on my 360 and just bought some trim rubber from Clarks Rubber in Victoria Aust which was about $13 AU per metre.
It did the trick very well and kept the aussie outback dust out.
