Lightweight bonnet

Post by Bor » 18 Dec 2016 01:53 pm

Buenos chicos.

When preparing an Alfa 75 I came across Pesch in Czechosovakia.
He made me a fiberglass bonet for 90 Euro. Prices have risen since to a staggering 93 Euros including VAT
He was also very reasonable in shipping costs.

I have dropped him a mail about making one for the 300 and no doubt he will get back to me asking how many I would want.
That would be one only which will most likely put him of the project.
Any more takers??

Regards,

Petrus

Applies to me to

Nevertheless, I am prepared to take the 'risk' for the price.
I think all interested parties should be a bit flexible in this as it is not an off the shelf with 2 years warranty car product.

Anyway, he will probably need a hood sent as example and the a minimum order.
Now, I don't have a spare to sent him, nor the slightest hope of finding one here as mine is the only 300 in a wiiiiide range. Also only need one bonnet.
Thus I have sent Dai a mail and maybe it is something for his shop.
I am quite prepared to pay an uplift to make it worth his while.

Fingers crossed sm1

Wow that was quick.

Yes, he can/will make them and yes he needs an example.

I have a spare bonnet, but I'll be honest I was hoping to try my hand at fiber glass one

You could save the time not making a bonnet and with that time you could restore something like... a 360

Btw he ships insured.

@Benji1985; Well, you can do the bonnets too if you prefer :-)

Have a look at the Pesch.cz site and see if you can up with the quality and price.

He says he can have it done in a a few weeks after receiving the original.

After all the talk about light weight hoods I could find in the history on here I am hoping that at this price level it will get off the ground

Euh, I think I will go for the guaranteed lightweight one to spend money on.

I know from experience that glass fiber has a looooong learning curve. Never mind the gel coat.
