Hello dear 300 community,

Thank you all for making this forum a life saver. There’s tons of people gathering info from here that never contribute or ask; thanks from all of us!

However i now have something i can’t seem to figure out. I’m not a mechanic so please forgive me for my limited knowledge!

My rear lights have a lot of dirt in them and i can’t seem to get the back of the taillight off of the holder of the bulbs. Are they glued together? Could anyone tell me how to seperate them?

Thank you
Erik

I tried this many years ago, they are glued and won't come apart. The dirt can be difficult to shift. A long soak in hot soapy water helps. I had to direct a jet of water to try and clean it out. In those days I only had a hosepipe. Maybe a jet wash was would help. The only alternative is to find better ones if not.

Hey Hell Driver,

Thanks for your reply. I might try a heat gun on the left tail light as i think i need to replace it anyway. Will be more gentle and pry the dirt out on the right one. Do you have any tips on removing the front lights? Should i dismantle the front bumper to get them out?

Thank you

Yeah you'll need to remove the front bumper to get to all of the headlight bolts, quite obvious once you've got the front bumper off, undo the bolts under the bumper caps and it will slide forward off the wing mounts.
