Hi all.
My D reg 360 GLt has developed quite a painful problem. The drivers seat adjustable bolster thing at the bottom of the back has stopped working. Can this be fixed or do I need new seats?
Cheers.
Dave

Was this the set of seats with the special half leather by any chance?! Which adjustment is it you mean, the lumbar support, on the gear stick side, for adjusting the softness of the seat or the one at the base of the seat for adjusting the angle of the seat? The lumbar support breaks, and is a common problem. Not heard of anything with regards to the angle adjuster though, maybe something caught in the mechanism?

Depends on the model seat you have, there are two types of lumbar support i have come across one is an easy fix the other not as easy, but both doable!!
Basically you need the seat out. Once out flip up onto its end so you can get to the bottom, there is a small skirt type bit, if you lift this up you should see some metal clips holding the bottom cover together. If you feel you can tell they go around two metal rods.
Once you have undone those clips (With pliers) you can get to the lumbar supposrt. You then need to look at where it is broke.
They tend to break in one of a few diff places, the earlier ones mount into the frame edge directly, after time the rod rots and breaks, these can be repaired by sourcing a working support from a later car and using a jubilee clip.
Another place they break is on the knob itself, the thread breaks off, but as you said its screwed in, i'm guessin yours isnt like this.
The other place i have heard they break is on the strap itself, in which case you will need a doner lumbar supposrt.
If you have a look i can direct you when you know whats wrong?
Cheers Adam
P.S. Any pics of your seats?
