Hi All
What else do you need to remove from the car when removing the Econo gauge and Temp Gauge so that they can be refitted and work in another one.
thanks

Hi James, if it's on a B200 take the tapping that goes into the engine from the vacuum hose, and fit the blanking stud from your own to replace it. The vacuum hose as well, and for the ambient temp sensor, your car should, however I won't guarantee it due to the way Volvo didn't appear to do the same thing on every 300, have a wiring loom for the ambient temp sensor hidden under the air filter box in a bundle, with a plug on the end, so all you need is the actual sensor, which if you remove the bumper cover under the head light on the black part of the bumper on the drivers side, you'll see the sensor inside there and you'll be able to trace it on the other side of the box section, it is literally clipped in. However if you want to be sure, trace the wiring up to the back of the dash and take that too.
The Sensor......

Hi Pete
Thanks for that
I remember Chris telling me about the sensor at the BKV meet last year, went back to the breakers today and pulled the full consul, the sensor and anything else that I could see related to it, the car it came from was a Blue Line which looked nice from a distance but not so good close up.
I now have a good idea of what to do to re-fit it all to mine. The only stuff I am going to have to work out is the vacuum tube you have said about, as all the parts have come from a 1.7 and my 360 is a B200E. I wont be fitting them for a few weeks as I am away with work but will update when back.
Thanks
James

Could you not use a T-piece on the vacuum hose that is already coming out of the inlet? I have the same problem and havent fitted my gauges on my 360 yet.

I have at least one spare tapping on the island, to where I'll return in a fortnight or so. If you look on the manifold, passenger side of the bay, there is bit with 3 bolts, you pull of of the bolts and replace it with a tapping.
Want me to see how many I have? Not sure, but maybe Mr Volvo might still do them.

Can't these tappings be had from the bigger turbo Volvos - cars with turbos and boost gauges have like two of them in one go

More than likely, are they the same thread? They aren't anything special, when I was in need I had the brass and lathe time, just the day I was going to do it I found one in the scrappy!

BTW Chris.. don't happen to want a GLT interior do you? Theres a good condition interior in the 360GLT in the scrappy by me. I know you love them poverty seats...

Thats the problem, as much as I don't like it... the head rest covers are move fluffy (ok, not the right word, but the foam is a lot deeper, and therefore more.... squishy??) and more comfy that the plush GLE interior ones. And this is after double the mileage?!
To be honest, I wouldn't even contemplate it if one of the seats didn't have a tear, and I'm tempted by the blue line interior. I would say I'd have the GLT interio, but I one minus 2 front seats (which I can get back if needed

) in my loft!
