Fibreglass Panels

My brother has just started working for a company who make fibreglass and carbon fibre car and motorbike parts.

He's gonna make me a GRP bonnet and bootlid for mine, and maybe some front wings.

Would anybody else be interested in some. Not sure what the costs would be we're gonna work them out sometime in the next month. Wouldn't be too expensive though probably £250 for a bonnet and £150 for a bootlid.

Sounds interesting ;) You're certainly pressing on with the 300 project! Although I don't know if you're aware that Nev already makes GRP bonnets, may save some hassle!

Nev are you doing GRP bonnets? If so how much?

Cheers
Hello fella, yes, Nev does have them in stock.

£180 each, but these are light weight race bonnet's which need to be pinned front and rear because they don't have the original bonnet mount's moulded in.

Finish and fit are really good as Sid has got one on his new beast

Hey

Can a snow cap be made from carbon fibre? I know there was one for a 480 but it was too big for my lil 340!!

Thanks

Yeah, it'd be easy enough to lay up a snowcap I'd imagine. A few of us here have them, so can take measurements if you want.

To make carbon fibre parts will be very expensive they use proper pre-preg carbon fibre and vacuum mould it. A full fairing for a moto gp bike is going on for £2500 so you can see the costs involved lol.

Lol, I didn't realise it was this thread, my bad ;) I was thinking of bodge laying, just into a mould as opposed to vacuuming it  No strength needed for a snowcap.

well at current exchange from what i make out the:

Volvo 340-360 Breddade Bakskärmar @170,000SEK

converts to 13,875.13 GBP

£13 grand for a front wing or pair of EEK!

edit my mistake, XE fecking it up

1,700.00 SEK = 138.751 GBP
Sweden Kronor United Kingdom Pounds
1 SEK = 0.0816184 GBP 1 GBP = 12.2521 SEK

more correct now

£138 thats not a bad price now for widened rear wings

Group buy?
