Exactly!

I don't know whether anything could be "made to fit" but the part numbers for front and rear handles are certainly different. Also, there is a difference between 80 - 84 and 85 - 91 door handles, for the front anyway.

A new handle ... I'm afraid I don't have any spares.

Cheers

Is that just for the different locks? (longer key on one key cars)

I have no idea, possibly, if one key cars were introduced in '85 ...

I think they were sometime around then. (Earlier cars for the doors and boot/hatch used a shorter Casi key as opposed to Neimann? ones on the steering lock/ignition switch)

Left rear repaired by fixing broken metal lever. Two parts of lever bonded and with wire looparound make to be again one piece.

After 2 days testing still working.

But right front similar problem, broken lever.
Unfortunately part of lever missing and not available. Look to find a way to fabricate similar lever.

Two doors two different break points, it looks to me that source of trouble is material fatigue.

I agree, the metal of that handle does fatigue. Last time I had one go they were still available but I think this is no longer the case.
