Recently, while in the process of re-wiring the god-awfully designed earths on all of the rear lights, i came across a set of 3 (maybe 4) wires coming out of the wiring harness into one brown (i think) flat plug behind all of the boot trim panels.

does anyone know what this is? it seems to me like it could be a feed for some optional map lights for the rear occupants, and damn...

...i just saw whilst scanning the owners manual for this car, that it has this option built into the rear grab handle. does anyone know where i could acquire a left and right hand rear grab handle with map lights built in?

very few 340s had maplights up there - me dads did but i've never seen any others. 400s *may* have used the same handles, i dont know. if all those wires go to brown then they are simply earth - perhaps for the 3rd brake light, or windscreen wiper?

as we don't have 340's here, and as unlikely as it would seem to be, is anyone able to source and sell a pair of these that will suit an '84 ish 360GLT?

they dont need rear wipers in AUS it never bloody rains , they only use the front ones for clearing the entrails of run over kangaroos off the glass LOL
