Electrical Gremlins

Post by 360BLT » 03 Mar 2010 03:52 am

We've all had them.

But has anybody ever had a problem with their 360 B200 where the brake lights, heater fan, radio and possibly a few other things only work when the headlights are turned on? I suspect there may be a few major issues with the electrics. Possibly some 'home remedies' done by the previous owner. I'm no auto electrician but I do like solving problems like this myself. Plus I'm a tightass and don't want to pay a pro until I'm sure I have to.

Does anybody know where to start looking? Probably an earth problem right?

Yeah, I'd reckon it's a bad earth somewhere, but I'm wondering about the Light issue, maybe someone took a feed off the light switch....No idea why though!

I had a problem like that once, was quite intermittent. Try pushing the big wire loom that leads to the bulkhead connector blocks RHS under the driver dash. I found the connectors where burnt.
