I've found something similar from AMP, and Volvo did use them alot for the 80's 2 and 700 looms. They've been bought by Tyco though, whose website is less than great :(

Don't stress about the other tools bud, it's just a standard spade removey one I now see!

Right, todays current progress is slim, but just about there.

I went downstairs and hunted out an old AMP catalogue, and have just ready all 1600 pages of it (that was fun). No sight of the fusebox connector, but just incase anyone for some strange reason ever wants to replace the really weird 300 stereo connector have a look at AMP 1-480586-0 (cap) and 1-480585-0 (plug). I havn't measured up but I reckon they'll be the same by looking at the datasheet.

I now have possension of 20 AMP terminal pins (in Volvo wrappers, which seems to have put a good 4000% inflation on them ) as well as a homemade 9996351, which I think may have to become CST0001.

It works awesomely well, I'll picture up when I get home!

I only need the one that burnt out, all the others remain looking remarkably new. Because I'm cheap, can you bring it to the next meet and I'll replace it then?

If you leave it much longer you'll need a new brown plug too :P

Let me sort mine out first and in the meantime if you see a breaking 300 grab the bonnet side brown plug. Hopefully the piccies later will make it all a bit clearer.

Right, this post is mainly for those who have been taking the mickey about my lathe related excitedness (that'll be Steve and Foggy then).

Having rung up Volvo and SPX and found 9996351 is NLA, with Anjo's dimensions a bit of random old locomotive axle was strapped to the spinny thing and we have CST0001, seen here
Image

Foggy was kind enough to send me an express delivery "brown engine side" connector. This is labelled 'C' in the green books, and should carry wires 31->45 into the fusebox though has moulded on the back pin numbers 1->15. Hopefully this means 'D', the connector we are replacing won't have the numbers 46->60 moulded into it and it'll be a completely undetectable repair (it'd be -10 BKV points otherwise )

I have a passion against soldering looms, so this lot should enable burnt out connector D repairs. The current setup's have lasted in our cars for 20 odd years so this should last another 20. Soldered tails in a car leads to fatigue and fracture, a good crimp is much better.

All thats required is to use CST0001 to pop out all the round connector pins

As I still can't find a source of these housings this is the best way I can think of atm. New crimps I have got, and should mean we are back to factory-ness. I'll make a spade removing tool in the next few days, I was going to buy one until I saw the price :o Steve watched me remove said spades from another type of housing with a screwdriver at the pod weekend but it's really not a great idea.

I know this is an old topic, but I would like to replace these connectors myself. Can you tell me where you've sourced the terminals?
Oh, and if you'd still like to replace the connector housings, this place seems to have them;

The terminals I got from my local Volvo dealer, I don't have a part number to have but I think they are
http://www.skandix.de/en/spare-parts/ac ... e/1029289/

The plug you list is for the radio rather than the fuse box (at least the picture is, I haven't got a parts manual here to check the number), though I hadn't thought of looking at Skandix before... just have looked and can't see the fusebox connector. If you ever do come across the housings I'd still be very interested!

Info for the future, from this post:

http://www.volvo300mania.com/uk/forum/v ... 50#p195150

The round terminals are TE Connectivity 925663-1. I bought mine from ebay, but they came in a onecall bag with the label chopped off.
The ebay listing I used is https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181885614242
The onecall listing for that part is https://onecall.farnell.com/amp-te-conn ... dp/8578222
