Converting my new race body (3 doors instead of the 4 doors i had) to injection.
Swaped in the injection loom in the carb car and i have a few odd and ends i need to verify hope you guys can point me in the right direction as i moved houses and my wringbooks are packed somewhere
1. First off the 2 wires coming from the loom with the relay.. From what i remeber i need to connect the pump to these correct?
2. The 2 red wires from the relayloom, do i feed power to both of these?
3. Lastyly the last piece of loom from the carb.. yellow is the temp sensor for the dash? others?
Apart from this, will i run into more wires that i could be forgetting?
The heavy 2 red wires are for the fuel pump and what the relay is turning on/off. 1 is battery 12V, the other is fuel pump.
For the control relay you also need;
ignition 12V (brown-15)
RPM output from the ignition module (1)
Ground (brown - 31)
Starter start - (BL-Y - 50)
I just unplugged+labelled my carb Engine:
Yellow is temperature
Yellow blue is for the starter (or connection for the relay)
Black is for the carb (maybe choke light)
Blue red for the carb idle solenoid
Blue is for the carb heater
What 'other' wire, there is only one, its grounded via the body.
There is a definate black wire connected near the choke cable, looking closer it seems to be a throttle closed sensor, probably for the carb fuel cut thingy 209.542?
Got the startmotor working, the black wire was for the carb, i had that too on it (choke part i assume)
However i am getting not 12V on the red wire that goes to the pump when the contact is on (or off for that matter)
Got it connected like this
nr1 (in my case brown): Ignition (RPM?) (What are the other 2 wires in the connector for on the ignt side, they where are all cut)
15 (gray in my case): Connected to switched 12V from the ignition switch
Became obsessed with this issue over the last weeks, nothing would work for me.
I ended up swapping the enginebay loom from a 86 injection car. hookedup the 3 big connectors in the relay/fusebox et voila.. working car. I really suspect the black box that suppose to cut off the fuel for a carb engine but i never really got it down.
