Automatic gearbox

Post by nekto » 21 Dec 2009 11:17 am

Hello all
Did anybody fit auto gearbox from other models?
I think that gearbox from any redblock could be fitted to B19A?
May be I'm a bit crazy:)

I've though about this before but arent sure there is adaquate room behind the bellhousing for a gearbox if it were installed as per the 240, 740 etc.

with some bespoke mounts maybe one could be mounted where the gearbox usually sits at the back? A bespoke gear linkage would also be needed.

regards

S

Gear linkage would work from a 2/7/9 with some cutting. Your main problem is fitting a completely different rear axle/diff/suspension.

Fitting an AT in the back is next to impossible. Where are you going to put the torque converter?

Fitting to the back is not a case for me..
I have some crazy idea about tuning, but don't know when I will do it..
So if it is possible to place gearbox in the front, then it is ok
thanks for your replies!
