change the motor

Post by Christophe_343 » 22 Apr 2010 04:03 pm

Hello,

I would like to change the motor's 340 1.4l.
Because in swiss we can change the motor, but not put an injection on a carb's motor. The rules are max more 20% power. I think about an audi 80 motor or somethink like that ( line vw motor).

Did anybody change his motor? Do you know if a motor will be the most adapted?

Cheers,

Christophe.

Ive never heard of someone putting an audi engine in, or a VW engine, but the normal swap here is to go for a renault engine, either 16v or a 1.7/1.8 engine out of a clio, laguna, 19 etc.

Im sure some one will be along in a bit to add to the information!

Thanks ben sm4 ,

I have think about a renault motor, but I (personly) think that german motor are better.
But if it is the only solution why not?

And a good old audi motor, because it's a simple, linear, very good motor. And old audi are propulsion.

Not a problem my good sir.

I like audis, and i couldnt agree more, i just know that the renault is a direct swap and gets a bit more power for the size car. and readily available (they are here anyway)
