Hi,
Having a bit of trouble removing a gearbox off a GLT, so far ive unbolted everything on gearbox end but theres the gear linkage which I am not too sure how to remove properly?
How?
Thanks in advance

From what I remember there's a split pin through the linkage and box, remove the pin and the linkage should separate??

There's a coupling at the back of the linkage, where it enters the gearbox itself. It's hidden by a rubber boot. Peel that back and that will reveal a metal collar which you have to spring back to move out of the way before you can remove the pins that hold the linkage in.

I think I know what you are on about, Ill give it another go tomorrow, Thanks.
On slightly simlar topic, does anyone know if 1.7 engine will go straight into 1.4 shell with 1.4 diff, gearbox and bellhousing? I know i gotta change the renix but not to sure about transmission wise.
Thanks.

Managed to disconnect the linkage but gearbox wouldn't come off as there seem to be something inside the propshaft stopping it coming out.. any idea?

There are 2 rubber grommets on the torque tube near the gearbox. Pop these off and turn the drive shaft until you can get at the bolts for the clamp. Remove the clamp bolt nearest the gearbox completely (the bolts go through the drive shaft partially so have to be removed for separation).
You absolutely should have a manual to do this, at least to get the torque setting. Otherwise you will ruin it when you reassemble.
