lewy, do you have higher revs at driving off or does it take off normally and then the revs increase?
hi, when i drive away it is very smooth and low revs, its only once i start to get around 25mph things start to get a bit high,

then there's nothing wrong with the clutch (but still wise to check the air-gap and adjust if nescasary)
vacuum/electrics etc everything is fine? check if the belts are under tension and see if you can check if there may be a brake stuck

(If all is good it should be at approximately 1100 RPM. If you have no rev counter, its only very slightly above idling speed. If its any higher than that, say 1500 rpm, then your clutch needs adjusting. )(quote)
ok put the car up on stands, put the car into drive and revved the engine the propshaft started to turn @1100rpm then the wheels started to turn at around 1500rpm (got a rev counter in the car), i could also watch the vario cones running with the belt moving in and out.

whilst 340 was on stands i checked the brackes and there is none stuck on

the belt tension is up towards the 1.5mm gap. , so all seems good.

Hiya, no the clutch plates won't be easy to rotate, you'll be turning the whole engine so will be stiff I'm afraid. Sometimes its easier for someone to turn the engine from the front pulley whilst you give instructions from underneath, if you get what I mean

Measure the gap by pulling off the cover plate at the bottom of the bellhousing and then sliding a feeler gauge up between the plates.
I think Mac has written a very extensive guide on how to check and adjust the clutch gap.

on a CVT the clutch allways moves freely with the engine off, if it's allready turning hard then the adjustment on the clutch airgap is wrong (too tight)..
this still is only in Dutch, i will translate it soon but it will give a rough idea on how and what

if you see the pic with the red dots and the green stripes, around the green stripes is where you stick the feeler gauges in
