Volvo 1.7 Turbo

Hi all,

I am currenting building a Volvo 340 2 door with a 1.7 turbo engine from Volvo 480 ( was an auto)

Ive been searching all over but can't seem to find what i need to do the conversion. The car is currently a 1.4 but I do have a 1.7 for spares.

Do I need to swap sumps over from my standard 1.7 engine to turbo engine?
Use 1.7 bellhousing and what flywheel do I need?
Can I use standard 1.4 engine mounts/front brace bar?

Can I use standard 1.4 engine mounts/front brace bar? if a later 1.4 yes if early then you will need the one from teh 1.7

Thank you for replying, My Volvo is on F reg which makes it one of later ones. Can I use the mounts off 1.4 engine for turbo engine as I cant seem to see how it lines up somehow.

It will probably look weird lining up the mounts as the turbo engine is from a FWD car and yours is RWD

The mounts are the same but you need the 1.7 brackets

Finally got around to do the clutch layout, Which turbo flywheel do I need as Ive been told theres two types? also do I need a pilot bearing?

Is there any for sale?

Sourced a flywheel. Do I need to use standard 1.7 340 clutch or 480 clutch aswell?
